This concentric water meter is specially designed for the UK market with high accuracy and wide measuring range. This model known as the Gladiator is for use in wholesome potable water applications and can be installed in any position horizontally, vertically or even on an incline if needed. Nominal size is 15mm / 1/2" with 1 1/2" BSP threaded connection to suit a 1 1/2" concentric meter carrier. It is class D rated, with weights and measures approved for charging purposes. Features include a sealed super-dry register, IP68 Pulse under the glass register, up to 16 bar pressure and up to a working temperature of 50 degrees Celsius.
The Gladiator is a positive displacement water meter rotating piston type. The flowing water causes the piston to rotate within its chamber, each piston revolution being equivalent to a known volume of water. The piston movement is transferred by a magnetic coupling to the register which has the appropriate reduction gearing.
Remember, the meter must always be full of water while operating and when installing a new meter, the pipeline must always be flushed out.
This meter is designed for use in manifolds which incorporates a check valve and in some versions, stopcock and drain-off cock and connections to pipework. This meter will fit in meter mounts and meter boundary box chambers that take a standard 15mm concentric water meter.
