DELIVERY CHARGES
Due to the wide range of products that we have available, delivery charges will vary depending on the type of products you have selected. You can find the applicable delivery charges in your shopping basket. Our delivery charges reflect the weight and size of your order, we always show the delivery charge separately as we believe that hiding the transport costs within the price of the product, does not benefit our customers.
These charges are automatically based on delivery to the mainland UK, but exclude Scottish Highlands and Islands. Please get in touch if your delivery address is in the Scottish Highlands and Islands, as sometimes additional delivery charges will apply. These charges are normally from our couriers, or direct from the manufacturers. Your order will not be despatched until payment for the correct delivery charge has been made, therefore please contact us straight away to avoid any unsuitable delays.
DELIVERY DATES
We aim to ensure all orders are delivered by the date required. However, depending on the availability from our manufacturers or their own delivery schedules, we cannot always guarantee the dates given. We will advise you either on the email address or telephone number provided if there is any change to the delivery date given.
Please keep in mind when placing your order that our estimated delivery times are based on a 5 day working week, Monday to Friday. In light of this, any orders received on a Friday afternoon and throughout the weekend will be processed on the next working day, typically a Monday unless it’s a bank holiday.
ON ARRIVAL
We at United Civils Supplies, use a mixture of our own transport vehicles, manufacturers own transport and national carriers networks. Our effort is always ongoing to reduce our carbon footprint, therefore we regularly review our transport arrangements. We always aim to ensure that your goods reach you having travelled the least road miles possible.
The delivery charges are based on the customer:
- being available to accept the order at the time of delivery (a signature is usually required);
- manually off-loading the order by hand or, for heavy items arrange their own mechanical offloading such as a forklift truck or something else that is suitable;
- informing us of any access restrictions before we despatch your order
We reserve the right to make additional delivery charges if we have to reattempt a delivery at no fault of our own. For example, due to nobody being available to accept the delivery, access is not possible or suitable offloading has not been arranged etc.
Please remember to check for any missing quantities, damaged products or breakages at the time of your delivery. Once you sign for the items you accept that the order is complete and arrived in good condition, therefore do not accept damaged products. If you do find that something is wrong, contact us straight away for us to rectify these issues. If you have left us instructions to leave your order in a designated placed and the driver believes it is safe to do so, we cannot take any responsibility for any damage or shortages on these occasions. When your order is delivered to your chosen address, the risk of any loss or damage passes to you.
OFFLOADING
Depending on what items you order, offloading options may be available and we can arrange them for you at an additional cost, such as tail-lift or crane offload. Please contact us if you want to discuss particular items with offloading to see how we can help.
RESTRICTED ACCESS
During the checkout process please inform us in the order notes of any restricted access that we need to be aware of. If you have forgotten to do this on an order you have placed, please contact us urgently to avoid any potential failed delivery charges, which we reserve the right to charge. If you have any restricted access for an order that is not on the mainland UK, please contact us on 03301 740740 or send an email to info@unitedcivilssupplies.co.uk before you place your order, due to most items being shipped from the mainland UK there is a chance that an additional delivery charge is needed to accommodate your situation.
Examples of restricted access are as follows, but not limited to; narrow lanes, double yellow lines, steep hills, low bridges, width or weight restricted roads, a red route etc. If you know there is going to be an issue for our delivery driver & vehicle, please don’t keep it to yourself.
DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS
If you have any specific delivery requests or instructions, please let us know at the time of ordering by entering the relevant information into the order notes box during the checkout process.
MULTIPLE DELIVERIES
Your order might arrive in multiple deliveries, depending on the items you order. This could be because the items on your order are stocked at a different branch or warehouse, or due to stock availability we might sent out the items to you that are available rather than wait for the whole order to arrive in one.
So you can keep track of your items, we will notify you if your order is going to be delivered in multiple deliveries.
