Fernco Flexseal Rubber Flexible Drainage Drain Pipe Coupling

Formerly known as Flex Seal, Fernco leads the drainage marketplace in providing solutions for those circumstances that can’t be overcome with traditional couplings. These drain couplers are designed to connect pipes of a similar diameter (within 10mm) together in unadopted circumstances. Often referred to as bandseals, they are ideal for applications where repairs or connection need to be made on pipes in a domestic setting where a cost effective and easy to install solutions is required.

The drainage coupling is an EPDM-moulded sleeve wrapped with stainless-steel clamping bands at each end, these can be tightened to requirement with a torque wrench or hexagonal nut driver.

To install the couplings please follow the below guide:

1. Mark both pipes from the end to be connected, half the width of the coupling, less the required joint gap, which is usually 10mm.
2. Slide the coupling fully onto one of the pipes.
3. Align the pipes and slide the coupling onto the other pipe, ensuring the coupling face and marked line are flush. Tighten this clamp band.
4. Position the smaller pipe, ensuring the coupling face and marked line are flush. Tighten this clamp band.
5. Tighten the clamp bands to the recommended torque. Tamp the bedding under the pipe and re-tighten prior to backfilling.

Made to adhere to requirements of BS EN 681-1:1996, BS EN 295-4:2013 and BS EN 10088-2:1995 certified by the British Standards Institute (BSI) and made by Fernco. This provides the installer with a reliable product designed to perform in low pressure applications. Please be aware that these couplings are not UV protected and as such, should not be exposed to direct sunlight for longer than 12 months.
