This MDPE to Copper adaptor is to be inserted inside a compression fitting, allowing you to convert the fitting to accept copper pipe instead of the standard MDPE pipe connection. We would advise a pipe liner to always be used at any MDPE end and PTFE tape is recommended in all threaded joints.
All of our MDPE compression fittings can be used on either blue (potable) MDPE water pipe or black (non-potable) MDPE water pipe. This adaptor has a standard of BS5114 and WRAS approved and is fast and simple to use.
MDPE to Copper Conversion Set are available in the following sizes:
20mm x 15mm Adaptor (converting 20mm MDPE to 15mm copper) |
25mm x 15mm Adaptor (converting 25mm MDPE to 15mm copper) |
25mm x 22mm Adaptor (converting 25mm MDPE to 22mm copper) |
Manufactured by Plasson, the UK’s leading brand of fittings for water mains pipework. With their fittings in over 80 countries and their policy dictating that quality comes first, provides the installer with a trustworthy product that will perform. With over 50 years of experience, quality is the keyword in all Plasson processes, from design through manufacture, assembly and packaging. If you need to connect your MDPE mains water pipe, we can supply a wide range of Plasson fittings to get you connected.
For aggressive chemical applications, the end user is advised to test suitability. Maximum temperature of use for fittings and valves is the same as the MDPE pipe, however they are not intended for use in hot water applications. They will however withstand sub-zero temperatures.
If you plan to run any water service underground, we would always recommend that the water pipe is buried in the ground inside a blue water duct system. A duct is designed to protect the pipe from damage and alert others to the presence of duct in the ground. Water caution marker tapes are commonly used as additional indications, alerting presence of the pipes. If this is your first time installing ducting, we would always recommend attaching a second drawcord to your pipe as this will enable you to easily install replacements at any point in the future, if required. Your duct system may also need duct access chambers depending on your project, which come in a various sizes to suit.
