This boundary box meter chamber comes complete with a base, guard tube, meter mount with stop valve and a plastic lid. The guard tube, also known as a riser is 650mm in length and can be cut to size. The stop valve cuts off the flow, the meter mount manifold allows you to connect a standard 15mm concentric water meter and connect 25mm metric pipe at each end of the fitting. The plastic cover is stamped with ‘Water’ and has a 1 ton rating which is suitable for pedestrian areas. Water meter boundary boxes are designed to give access to your water meter and stop tap valve underground.
The water meter for the chamber is sold separately. This product is also available to purchase with a cast iron lid for a higher ton rating.
Mechanical fittings are always recommended to be installed with pipe liners when using MDPE pipe. If you are connecting to barrier pipe, adaptors are available.
All of our MDPE compression fittings can be used on either blue (potable) MDPE water pipe or black (non-potable) MDPE water pipe. This MDPE compression range is fast and simple to use and includes the captive nitrile rubber O-ring seal, achieving a sealed system and providing protection against leaks. We recommend always trying to minimise the amount of joints used on any MDPE water installation wherever possible.
Manufactured by Plasson, the UK’s leading brand of fittings for water mains pipework. With their fittings in over 80 countries and their policy dictating that quality comes first, provides the installer with a trustworthy product that will perform. With over 50 years of experience, quality is the keyword in all Plasson processes, from design through manufacture, assembly and packaging. If you need to connect your MDPE mains water pipe, we can supply a wide range of Plasson fittings to get you connected.
For aggressive chemical applications, the end user is advised to test suitability. Maximum temperature of use for fittings and valves is the same as the MDPE pipe, however they are not intended for use in hot water applications. They will however withstand sub-zero temperatures.
