This non-woven geotextile is white in colour, 4.5 metres wide and available in a standard roll length of 100 metres. Sometimes referred to as Terram, this geotextile is used in many building applications and civil engineering projects. It is designed to offer filtration and separation functions, commonly used alongside drainage products such as
surface water twinwall pipe,
land drainage pipe &
attention & soakaway crates. This nonwoven geotextile can be easily cut to your desired length and size, however we also offer this geotextile in a small
2.25mtr x 50mtr mini geotextile roll and an even smaller
2.25mtr x 25mtr micro geotextile roll to suit many domestic projects.
Typical applications for this non-woven geotextile include:
- As a general purpose separator for use in areas of hardstanding and under site access roads
- As a strengthening layer and separation under new car parks, roadways, industrial units etc.
- As a filter surround in the construction of a granular drainage blanket or french drain
- For separation: preventing the intermixing of dissimilar soil layers
- For filtration: allowing the passage of fluids whilst preventing the uncontrolled passage of soil
UV stabilised and made from 100% Polypropylene staple fibers, this high-quality non-woven geotextile is permeable, needle punched and mechanically bonded. These bonded materials are robust and have a good CBR puncture resistance. Unlike impermeable geotextile membranes which do not allow water to pass through, permeable geotextiles have opposite qualities. Permeable non-woven geotextile membranes are made from porous fabrics allowing water to filter through, yet prevent silt, soil and sandy particles from passing through the geotextile fabric. Geotextiles are manufactured from various materials ranging in thicknesses and styles including
woven,
non-woven and
knitted socks. They all have their unique purposes for different job applications.
TNW1100 meets the requirements of BS8661:2019 for mechanical characteristics of high-extension geotextiles TYPE 1 and the hydraulic requirements for use in Separation with Filtration. Other standards and testing procedures include EN 12224, EN 14030, EN 13438 and EN 12225. TCS specialise in geotechnical products for the civil and construction industry therefore you can be assured this product is of high-quality.
